Unused URL taken

  Hey guys,
  I’m an long-time WordPress user and I’m looking to start another blog.

  My problem comes with the URL I want is already taken: learnfromhome.wordpress.com. I checked out this page and found there to be only two “test” posts both of which are from 2010, so obviously the user made a very brief start and then gave up on it four years ago. Is there anyway I can gain this URL? Does WordPress.com not have certain measures in-place to prevent unused URL’s from remaining taken?

  Contact the blog owner and see if they will transfer it to you.

  No requirement to use a blog here to keep ownership of it

  Hmmm I thought that might be the case. Let’s just hope (s)he understands English, it seems (s)he’s of Russian origin.
