unwanted code display in text box
-
My blog posts are showing code like this: >Sent: Sunday, April 14, 2013 8:21 PM >Subject: [New post] Poor people using food stamps don’t look poor enough; Republicans propose new rules to address concerns > > > > WordPress.com >Wisconsin Wit posted: ” Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:”Table Normal”; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colb” >
This has never happened before. What’s going on and how do we make it stop? And what good is the site if it has no support?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Well I guess those who are answering questions have escaped your notice.

Edit the post to remove that code > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/
Microsoft Word is a word processing program that’s not compliant with web standards. The result of copy and pasting from Microsoft Word into the Tiny MCE editor in WordPress blogs can be unexpected, unless you know how to use the built-in features in the Visual editor for using Word cleanly. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
Note you need to click the kitchen sink icon #15 at the end of Row 1 to have Row 2 appear. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-1
Go here > Settings > Writing
Formatting
and enable this
_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”You may want to try using Windows Live Writer for posting to your blog > http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/windows-live-writer/

I am running Firefox 20 and IE8 and I do not see any code displaying at all.Are you running one of the browsers and versions that are supported by WordPress.com which are found here? http://browsehappy.com

Thanks for the info – as to your comment about support – I’m referring to the lack of IT support offered by the website itself as opposed to support by members. I already edited out the code (which in 2 years has never appeared before) but it’s still showing up for the people who follow the blog. DO you know how to make that stop?

If what you are seeing whenever you save or update a post or page is an automatically added code/script block at the end of posts and pages that you can’t delete then see here: Malware Targets Macs and Windows PCs http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/10/02/malware-targets-macs-and-windows-pcs/

but it’s still showing up for the people who follow the blog
As I said above I don’t see it and that’s an indication that those who do see it have browser related issues. I suggest they do the following:
If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

No, the Followers are receiving a version of your site based on the RSS feed, meaning that the first edition of each post that’s published is what they get. You cannot change this retroactively.
WordPress is constantly changing, and it’s natural to expect that if you use non-web-compliant software like Word, that WP.com will not make allowances for it as it changes. If you like Word, I suggest switching to Windows Live Writer; it’s free, you’ll hardly notice the difference, you can format and add titles and categories to it, and it simply always works with blogs.
