Using the link provided, your blog isn’t opening.

Here is a support doc regarding unwanted and spam comments on WordPress.com blogs. However this will only help going forward.

Here are two ways to do a mass delete of comments. This support doc is for managing comments.
    In the Comments section:
    1) If all of your comments are spam, click the check box under the Bulk Actions drop down to select all of the comments on that page. (You can also uncheck any comments you want to keep) Then select “Move To Trash” under bulk actions and click Apply. This will only remove 20 at a time so that can be tedious depending on how many comments you are looking to remove. You can also choose “Mark as Spam” and then empty all of the spam at once.

    2) Click the Check for Spam. Once it separates the Spam comments, you can click on the spam link and click the Empty Spam button.

Hmmm… the link works for me. I wonder if it didn’t work because my blog is self-hosted?

    Thank you for your reply!

The Disq plug-in usually does a good job of not displaying the spam comments when you visit my blog, but they show up in my WordPress dashboard and it drives me crazy. I’ve gone through and deleted comments manually using the Bulk Action drop down, but as you said, it only deletes 20 at a time. I was wondering if there was another way to delete massive amounts of spam quickly so that I do not have to dedicate several days to nothing but deleting spam off of my site?

I will try the ‘Check for Spam’ tip that you mentioned. Will that allow me to delete more than 20 at a time?

Link works on my phone, it must be a setting with my work computer that is causing issues with it.

Since you have a self-hosted WordPress.org blog as opposed to Workpress.com (differences here) you should start a thread over at the WordPress.org support forums as this forum is for WordPress.com.

That said, as far as I remember from the one time I used Check for Spam, it will mark all of the spam comments as spam. Then select only the Spam comments to view. There should be a button in there called Empty Spam and that should allow you to delete all comments marked as spam at once.

    Good luck!

Try changing the number of comments to display to a larger number such as 50 – it’s a setting at the top of the page using a drop down menu – if the display number is too large it will crash when you try and delete the spam comments -if that happens choose a smaller number to display
