Unwanted comments that were very obviously not related to my food blog!!!

Recently I have received 2 comments through email that have not made it into your spam list. I had to open them and get rid of them myself. Concerns me as I have never had to do this and not I have done it twice within a few days.

Sorry about the trouble, and thanks for reporting the issue. Spammers are always working on ways to circumvent our spam filtering, so sometimes you can see spam getting through.
With these spam comments, please mark those comments as spam instead of just deleting. Our Akismet anti-spam engine tries to learn from a pattern of the comments that are marked as spam.

Thanks – the two comments surprised me as for almost 2 years I have received no emails that were questionable. From now on any comment I do not like I will consider it as “spam”.

Thanks for the answer to my “spam” question. I also asked if there was a solution to someone using jujuskitchen.me with photos that are definitely not mine. The photo numbers they list should be pictures of Oreo molds, not such offensive and dirty pictures.

I didn’t see where you asked about someone using your domain in your original question or replies, but I’ll be happy to take a look into this new problem.
Do you have a link or an example of these images? Once I have that information, I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

I actually sent three additional emails as I was quite upset – I am not sure why you did not see them.
Please be warned the pictures are very pornographic. The site is http://www.crazygallery.info/Mini-Two-Tiered. It references jujuskitchen.me (which I own) and 2 images: 2381 and 2444. On my blog these are pictures of Oreo cookie molds; one is a two-tiered cake mold. What you get when you open this other site are very graphic pictures – I only remember one of them as I quickly closed it.
This disturbs me a lot and I wonder if anything can be done. Should I change my blog name or what?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. If you need more info please let me know.

I’m sorry – but I really did not see any additional emails that you had sent in. What email address were you sending them to? Regardless, I’m glad you mentioned it here so I could try to help.
Every day, bloggers are victimized (whether they are aware of it or not) by having their content stolen, scraped, and unlawfully copied – which sounds like this is what happened to you. This is unfortunate, as we understand how much you value your personal content and hard work. When this happens, and the culprit is a member of WordPress.com, we take immediate action, ensuring that your content is rightfully protected.
But when this happens, and the culprit is an externally hosted “splog” (spam blog) or web site, we are unable to take any direct action against the apparent violation. I checked the hosting information for crazygallery and they are not being hosted on WordPress.com, so there’s nothing we can do.
I would not recommend changing your site name. The longer you own the domain and keep posting great recipes and posts under jujuskitchen.me, your site will be the one that shows up in a Google search, not one of those junk sites like crazygallery.
