Unwanted Emails

  Someone is using my email address to subscribe to a ton of newsletters from wordpress blogs.

  Is there a way to make this stop and prevent my email address from being used to subscribe to anything?

  Hi there,

  Are you speaking of the email address appearing at https://wordpress.com/me/account/ for this menurunners username?

  I don’t see any subscriptions to any sites for that email address in our system, and that email address is already blocking all subscription emails from us.

  I assume you’ve been getting notifications for these subscriptions? Are those notification from from a @wordpress.com email address, or from email addresses starting with wordpress@, followed by different domain names?

  If it’s the latter, this has nothing to do with WordPress.com, but instead you’re being signed up to random WordPress sites that are not hosted with us and not using our subscription system. As each of these sites is a completely independent entity, there’s no way to block someone who has your email address from using it to sign up on sites like this, so the best advice I can offer is to set up a filter on your email account instead to just automatically delete these notifications. That way at least they won’t clutter up your inbox.

  I’ve been deleting them as they come in. The notifications are coming from (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  It looks like the person is in Canada and is a fan of rap music.

  Could you confirm the email address to which you’ve been getting these emails?
  As @kokkieh mentioned, the account menurunners is not subscribed to any site and is also blocking any subscription emails.

  Type your address in a new line; it will be visible only to the WordPress.com staff.

  So now that I’ve created an account here that I don’t actually want to have and told the system that I don’t want any emails it will stop…even if the person who is using my company email address without permission decides to keep subscribing to things?

  I checked this address a bit further back (for the full month) and found subscription emails from two sites. None since you blocked our emails.

  Are you getting more than that?

  Blocking it seems to have solved the problem. Do I need to maintain any level of activity on the site to keep the block active?
