Unwanted image on homepage

  When I view my home page, a large unwanted image of my work is stuck above my gallery. When I go to edit my homepage the image dissappears.
  When I go to edit my websites identity (colours, backgrounds, fonts etc.) The image appears, but is uneditable.
  I have checked to see if its a header image and it is not , (says no header image selected) …
  Any help or advise would be appreciated

  Hey hi hello!

  I love the artwork! :)

  Interesting that it’s not a header image, given that the image is under “entry-header” and “post-thumbnail” in the CSS!

  Based on the fact that the image appears in social media links, I suspect it’s a featured image.

  Thank you for replying!
  Am I right in thinking that a featured image can only be used in a post/page ? I have never made a post and my pages do not show the large image when i go to edit them…

  Any ideas?

  Hello hello, and sorry for the late reply!

  I’ve been having trouble replicating your circumstance on a test site. Fortunately, staff will eventually come by and peek at your website to see what’s going on.

  For now, all I can think of is maybe there’s a mishap with Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Homepage Settings. However, even then, this would only be possible if this image was present in a particular page under Dashboard > Pages. But from your commentary, I don’t imagine this is the case.

  I’ll update you if I find a solution! Otherwise, someone else will surely be able to slam dunk a solution to this. For now, my sincere apologies for the inconvenience!

  Wait a second. I think I’ve got it!

  Does this solve the issue for you?:

  1. Open the page where the problem persists.
  Supposedly, this is something like Dashboard > Pages > Home

  2. From here, open the right-side menu by pressing the black-white cog icon at the top right. (Assuming it isn’t already open)

  3. Select the “Page” tab

  4. Scroll down to “Featured Image” and expand it

  5. Select “Remove featured image” (or replace it!)

  I hope this solves the issue!!!
