How can I get rid of the
Posted in Uncategorized | Edit
line that is below each post. Why would Edit be an option? Someone could edit my posts? Or does that only show up when I view the site (and not when others do?)
At the same time, why would someone have to click on the title of a post to get the share options? How would they even know that was necessary?
I would like to get rid of the Posted in Uncategorized | Edit

Hi there,
The line that says “Posted in Uncategorized | Edit” is part of your theme. You can use Custom CSS to customize that part of your theme’s design.
We have tips for getting started with CSS here:
If you have questions about how to hide that line, most of our CSS support is done in our CSS forum by expert staff and volunteers:

If you’d like, you can make those sharing options appear on the front page of your blog. That setting is controlled under Appearance > Sharing in your dashboard. Next to the “Show buttons on” setting, make sure that “Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results” is checked and then click the Save Changes button.
You can read more about those sharing settings here: Sharing

Hi there,
You actually already have Custom Design (including Custom CSS) as part of the WordPress.com Premium upgrade on your blog, so you don’t need to pay anything extra to use it. :) The folks in the CSS Customization forum can help you find the CSS code you need to make that change.
But if you’d like, you can also request additional help here: Request Theme Customization
Just let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help.
