unwanted menu bar item

I’ve just set up a new blog using the Twenty Twelve theme. It seems to insist on having a Home menu item with text saying

Ready to publish your first post? Get started here.As all I want at the present is the Page that I’ve entered how can I get rid of this? I have tried going into Menus and Removing the Home tab, but this doesn’t seem to work – it goes from the Menu Structure but stays on the page.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just to clarify, you want the menu to only list the page that you’ve created, and it should also be your blog’s default front page?
To list only the page in your menu, go to Appearance -> Menus, remove “Home” and in Menu Settings, check the “Primary Menu” checkbox. Make sure to save.
