Unwanted page remains after being deleted

This is the weirdest thing. After domain remapping and submitting a page for google site map, the google page is still visible, although clicking on it returns an error, because I did delete the page. I changed something else on the front page and that’s reflected and I’ve rebooted so I know I’m not seeing a cached page.

Out of curiosity I added the pages widget to my sidebar – the google page does not appear there but it’s still at the top of my site. Sigh.

That’s strange. You definitely deleted the page, didn’t set it back to draft (you’d see it in Manage > Pages)? I’d try creating another page with the same name, then delete that; it should delete both and remove it from the navbar.

Oh, it’s definitely gone, which is why it doesn’t appear in the widget or in manage/pages. I’ll try creating another, which I hadn’t thought of. Will let you know!

It happened to me a few days back when I just wanna try out how the [contact-form] works so I posted it on a new page. After tested it, I deleted that page, the page was still there. However, it’s gone after a few days.

Hey, that worked! I had to right click and go into properties to be able to copy the title (too long for me to risk by hand on no sleep) then I didn’t publish it but did a save. It was waiting for me in Manage and when I deleted it, the stubborn one was gone.

No worries. I double-checked afterwards and found a couple of topics in the forums, suggesting the same thing. Looks like it’s just something that happens every now and then. Enjoy your blogging. :)
