Unwanted span elements messing up code snippets

  It started to happen in my last two posts: code snippets using [code language=“(mostly java)”][/code] result in in various places in the code.

  This is only happening when viewing the post while signed out.

  Hi mahmoudanouti,

  I’ve checked the post above but haven’t been able to see the span you mentioned. It would be great if you could make a screenshot of what you are seeing and upload it to the Media Library so I can take a look.

  Hello,

  Thanks a lot for the response. I’ve checked further and the issue seems to appear only on iPhone, and randomly (sometimes refreshing the page causes the issue to disappear). Tried IE / Firefox / Chrome / Safari / even Android and none had the issue.

  I’ve uploaded two screenshots showing the span elements. But just want to note that there is a possibility that the problem could be on iOS Safari’s side and not WordPress.

  Just a small clarification: the browsers I tried are on a PC and not iPhone.

  Hi there,

  Can you please let us know the iOS and Safari versions so we can further investigate this?

  Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest version of iOS if you haven’t done yet.
