Upcoming Events category separate from main page

    Hello. I am very much a newbie to wordpress.com and I’m sorry if this is a simple fix or one that has been explained before. The results of my forum search didn’t explain enough, and I’m already getting enough views that I want to get this done very soon.

    What I’m trying to do, essentially, is to have one main page which only displays posts categorized as “News” and a separate page which only displays posts categorized as “Upcoming Events” preferably in order of when they will happen, not when they were posted. I also want the events to disappear after they happen. Also, a calendar would be nice.

    The lame hacked solution we have now is just a page which we can edit to add each new event and delete past events, but it’s really not good enough.

    Any ideas? Thank you.
