Upcoming Events Widget: HTML link in Event Description
-
Hi,
I’m using the Upcoming Events Widget and in the linked calendar, I have an event with a HTML link in the event description.
I notice that the link is not getting rendered, the HTML gets striped away on my blog.
Is there a way to make the link appear?
Interestingly, when I put the link into the Location field, it does get rendered.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you consulted this guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/upcoming-events/#frequently-asked-questions?
Let’s ask Staff to assist you with sorting this out. I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

Hi georgjaehnig –
Can you let me know which event you’re having trouble with? I’ll take a closer look.

Hi lizkarkoski,
so it is “Basistraining Neue Autorität”, listed here in the sidebar:
https://praesenzundkompetenz.de/The event com this iCal feed:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/joov9ohus4slgf50ortdlo5e48%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.icsThe event has 2 HTML links:
– one in the location field (string “Flyer Basistraining 2018”)
– one in the description field (string “(pdf)”)The former gets rendered, the latter not.
(Yes, using the location field is a working hack that solves the issue, but it is semantically not correct and I would like to have the calendar entry in a correct form, removing the link from the location field.)

Good morning –
This is expected. The widget doesn’t render html.
I’ve passed this feedback along to our developers though.
