Upcoming Events widget lists items NOT in chronological order

  Event for January 2013 comes before events in November 2012.
  November events are listed earliest first.

  (Also the times are showing incorrectly for the January event but that’s another thread.)
  The events should be in chronological order. I would prefer to see earlier upcoming events at the top of the list. I have double-checked my calendar entries. I have tried it with years displayed but makes no difference.
