Upcoming Events widget not showing today's event

  I am using the Upcoming Events widget to show upcoming events from a Google Calendar using ical. However, it does not show an event that is occurring the same day. Instead it starts with the next event that is the next day or later. The event occurring the same day is not shown. Ideally it would show “today” events until the event is over – or at the very least until it starts.
