update
-
On my new WordPress.com site it said I needed an update and that I needed to backup my files and data and I went onto my old WordPress site and exported the files and data. Then I did an update on my new site. It was fine for a minute and then I also updated the new Spam plugin that said it needed updating. Then my screen went white and it showed the loading sign. I tried to refresh the page and it said ‘Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. check back in a minute.’ can someone tell me what this means?? are my files etc ok? what is going on with my site??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Sophiaaxo,
I have checked the site linked about and see your information and posts (with June 1st being the last published). Are you still having an issue or is this resolved?

@sophiaaxo Are you referring to your WordPressdotcom site at sophiaaxo.wordpress.com or to your self-hosted site at sophiaaxo.com? WordPressdotcom users do not need to update their sites or plugins like you’ve described.
If by chance you are talking about a site using the standalone WP software, you’ll want to post at the support forums at https://wordpress.org/support If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on that page.
Standalone WP and WordPressdotcom are different entities; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Best wishes for a quick resolution.
