  When I try to log in, I get an error message. I know I need to update the site, but don’t know how. Any suggestions?

  Maybe try this clear your cache history for 24 hrs , from there I would then see if there a reset to do like for example forget email / user name or password,, seeing most ask you to set a retrievable area for when things go wrong you can retrieve it.
