Update didn't work and no backup

  I thought I had run a backup before updating but now I’ve got ‘You cannot update because WordPress 3.2.1 requires MySQL version 5.0 or higher. You are running version 4.1.22’

  I’ve tried extracting zip files from a folder called Webpage backup but all I get is an error message saying windows cannot complete the extraction – the compressed (zipped) folder is invalid.

  I am very green when it comes to webpages and therefore will understand very basic wording. Assume I am a complete beginner and dont know a thing.

  When I go onto the Web and check out my Webpage it looks ok except for the Dashboard tabs are running along the top. If I click on any of them it takes me to the screen with the ‘You cannot update’ etc
