Update email address but it is used on other WordPress account

    Hello, I am trying to change my email addresses but my current account will not allowed me to change it unless I go into my other account. However, I cannot remember what my other account user name is. Can you please help locate my old account? (it’s been stone aged.) Thank you in advance!

    Hello,

    If you are talking about WordPress.com and not a self-hosted WordPress site, you can use either the username or the email address to login.

    If you are using a self-hosted WordPress site (in other words not hosted by WordPress.com), then you should go to the forums for that linked below.

    Your other account can be accessed by logging in with that email address. If it’s been a long time, you might see a prompt to use the username for security reasons. Resetting the password with that email will mention the username in the message you get, so if you have that email address you should be able to get the account username also.

    Note that deleting an account does not free the email for 30 days. If you can switch your blogs to that account, that is a good solution. Or change that account email to another spare email and confirm before deleting the account to free up the one you want to use.
