update featured blog post

Change featured blog post to most current. Clicking ‘sticky” on new post doesn’t seem to change the locations.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
A static page set as your posts page at Customize > Homepage Settings will abide by the combination of the chronological order of posts and their sticky/not sticky status.
However, in your case the blog page appears to be a static page with one or more blocks inserted that display posts. Such blocks don’t obey the sticky designation of a post. As far as I know, the only time that the stickiness of a post is relevant on a static page is when that page is set as the posts page at Customize > Homepage Settings. Doing so transforms the static page into a dynamic page.
Someone had called for staff attention to this topic before I arrive, so staff will respond here. They might have some important information that I’ve omitted.

Hello there,
It looks like the Featured Post is actual content on the page and is not a blog feed.
This means this content can be edited manually via Pages > Blog > Edit.

@aleone89,
and is not a blog feed
I’ve got some questions that may not pertain to the OP’s site specifically, but arise from your use of the conditional phrase “and is not a blog feed,” and may be relevant. The Sticky Posts section of the Post & Page Visibility support page says, “It is not possible to sticky a site page (including pages which list posts by category, author and archive date).” I gather from this that some feeds aren’t affected by sticky status. But the Blog Posts Block and Display Posts Shortcode also rely on feeds (I think), which brings me to my questions:1. Does the sticky status of posts effect the order in which posts display anywhere other than either a.) a homepage that displays the latest posts, or b.) another page set as the posts page?
2. Specifically, can the sticky status of posts affect the order of posts displayed by blocks such as the Blog Posts Block? And can it affect the order of posts displayed by Display Posts Shortcode? I suspect not in both cases.

Hi @musicdoc1, so I did some testing and found that a post set as the sticky post doesn’t show up (or doesn’t affect the order of posts) anywhere other than a.) a homepage that displays the latest posts, or b.) another page set as the posts page.
I used both Blog Posts block and the Display Posts shortcode inside a Shortcode block and the post that I set as sticky (which wasn’t the latest post on my test site) did not show up at the top. In both places, the posts show up in the latest-first order. Only when I set the homepage to display the latest posts or set another page as the Posts page did the sticky post show up at the top as the ‘featured’ post on those particular pages.
Hope that answers your question! :)
