Update links in content after import
-
I’ve recently imported my content from my self hosted wordpress site (www.robinmassart.com) to my wordpress.com account. This all went well, including media. However the media within the post content is still coming from the original site and all my internal site links within posts are also pointing to my old site. How can I get these URLs within post content updated?
Thanks,

As we Volunteers cannot assist with such issues I have flagged this thread for Staff tatention.

You would need to update the links either before or after the import.
Alternatively, if you’re handy with a plain text editor, you could run a find and replace on the export file for all the old links.
If you can do that, we can empty out the blog and try the import again.

Well, I’m happily confused now. Yesterday evening the images were still using my old site’s URL. This morning I started changing them manually and I see that they have now been updated to use the new (wordpress.com) URL. Looks like wordpress did some updates on my site over night after the import. Is that possible?
Nice to know this worked so smoothly in the end.
Thanks,
Robin
