  There is no update option on my dashboard. I have tried downloading the full version but it’s pretty complex. Could you advise me of the simplest way to update in order to remove the risk you posted today? Thanks.

  Update option is only for self-hosted blogs using WordPress.org software.

  WordPress.com is a managed environment. Therefore Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com manages the updates and other housekeeping stuff for us. So we don’t have to worry about updates, security, backups etc and just focus on creating awesome content.

  In case you are unaware, please read the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
