Update not publicly applied

This morning I made an update to my blog and clicked update. It shows on my admin page as updated, but the public facing page still has the old version several hours later. Am I doing something wrong? If the top of the page doesn’t say ‘Updated 2/22/2022’ then you are looking at the old version.

The issue here is that you have both a Post and a Page with that title.
You have your Page titled “My DNA Adventure” set as your site’s homepage. This page has not had an edit since February 1.
The Post with the same title is what you updated. This post is not accessible from your homepage because you don’t have a blog page set in your Homepage settings. But you can find that post directly here: https://ggdna.wordpress.com/2022/01/25/my-dna-adventure/
So the question is: will you continue updating that Post or will you be creating new Posts over time with updates?
If you’re going to make new posts, I would recommend changing your Homepage settings to show your latest posts, then when you make a new Post, it’ll show on your homepage automatically.
Otherwise you need to edit the Page at https://wordpress.com/post/ggdna.wordpress.com/2 instead.
I hope that clarifies things! Let us know if you have any questions.

I plan to update it as new information becomes available. Sounds like I should copy/paste between the two of them to get the original correct, then delete the new one. I’ll see how that goes.

Cant believe this.
I have updated this blog at least a dozen times over the past month with no issues.1) Have no idea how it got duplicated.
2) I can not find a way to delete the duplicate.
3) I can not find a way to update the original.Infuriating.

This isn’t working. Will try to figure out how to just delete the entire site and start over from scratch.

It looks like you’re working on this right now, so let us know if you run into trouble or if anything isn’t working like you expect.

I give up. Please delete the entire site and close the account. I’ll post it somewhere else.
