Update Old Website with WordPress

    I want to update an old site with wordpress. I want to build the new website on wordpress.com while the old site remain live. Do I register with the old domain?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there, you can set up your site here before switching over your domain. :)

    We give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) when you sign up, which you can use to start building your site.

    I need some to help me build the site. How can I do this with my user name? Can I share my user name to help build the website? Is there a fix for this?

    We offer support assistance but are not able to set up your site for you. However if you opt to set up your own site we would be available to answer any questions if you get stuck. So from that standpoint you would definitely have help.

    If you prefer to have your initial site set up for you, we do offer a “Do it for me” option you may want to consider!

    I can build the site, but I have a friend that can help with it as well. Can I share my account with him?

    Hi there,

    There’s no need to share your login credentials with them. They can simply create a WordPress.com, and then you’ll add them as an administrator on your site. You can find more information here:

    2. Can WordPress.com let me build a site for people to shop so we can receive money?
    3. I currently have my own domain for now. With WordPress.com, can I build a new unplublished site while the old site remain active?

    Please keep in mind that the pro version is my obvious choice.

    There are several ways to go about monetizing your site. From adding PayPal to establishing a full-blown eCommerce store, there are many options available to you on WordPress.com. For more information on how to monetize your site, please visit our support page:

    That is not an issue – what you could do is create a site with a free WordPress.com blog address. You are assigned a .wordpress.com or a .home.blog subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site and determine whether or not this is the platform you want to use. The site starts off private until you are ready to launch it.

    Once you are done developing the site, you can make the decision to transfer the domain over:

    4. I can have how many domains?

    You can have as many domains are you want to purchase here.

    5. What happens if I exceeds 50GB?

    There may be some options to purchase additional space in the future, but that is not an option as of now.
