update problem & ads

Hi,
I am writing about 2 problems:
1. the update for the blogs I follow often doesn’t show. it has been a month like this. it either shows the 1st page and the page only, or it only shows the older updates. sometimes it shows nothing. please fix this! It was so smooth when we first moved here from msn space, please keep it that way!
2. the ads. one thing I really really appreciate about wordpress is it’s ads free. but today I saw a youtube video ads on my most recent blog entry. pleaaaase help to take it away. thank you!

Regarding updates, are you referring to your Read Blogs page? Or can you send me a link to where you’re coming across this problem?
We do sometimes show ads on WordPress.com to keep our free features free. If you’d like to completely remove ads, we have the No Ads upgrade:

Thanks :) For your Read Blogs page, can you let me know what internet browser and operating system you’re using?
Just to confirm, when you visit your Read Blogs page, you’re not seeing any recent posts. Is this correct?
Could you try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies?

I use Firefox on Mac. I just went to cleaned the browser’s cache and cookies following your advise. Can’t tell if that will help because the read blog page went back to normal this morning already.
Answer to the question: yes, when you try to open the page, the whole page is just blank.
Sometimes when you scroll down, the older posts (whichever have showned on this page before it went blank) would come up. Some other time, it shows one page of current updates entries, and only one page( about 7updates). Whatever older than that, won’t show.It’s been like this for a while, this page would suddenly go blank for a few days or over a week, then get back to normal, then go blank again, then you have to wait for another few days. Friends in my circle are having the save problem.

Please let us know if it ever happens again, and make sure to try clearing your cache too.
Hopefully it was just a temporary glitch.

well, today it came back again.
right now I click on “read blogs”, blank.
I cleaned browser’s cache and cookies, and more. doesn’t help.
it’s happening to other users, too. -

Do you have any luck if you check or uncheck “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages” at Users -> Personal Settings in your blog’s Dashboard?

it use to be after you click the “read blogs”, one page of update shows, if you wan to see more, you click next page.
now it seems like it’s trying to load up too many. the number of updates on my page keeps adding up: 7…then….70……77…. but the whole page is blank. and remains blank no matter how long I wait.Could this new change be the problem? Can WP go back to the old way: just show one page at a time??

We do have infinite scroll now, which means that you just keep scrolling down to load new articles. They aren’t loaded at once, but the load is triggered when you get near the bottom.
Are you rapidly scrolling down?
