Update to Automatically Closing Comments

Did I miss an announcement? We’ve got it now. Look under Settings>Discussion>Other Comments Settings.
Tell me I’m not hallucinating! :)

All my posts from more than a month ago (I put in 30 days) do not display the comment input box. :D
Guinea pig? I’m sure I don’t know what you are talking about. (snicker)

Thanks for volunteering to “test” the function. (And I suggest a new nick for you – Gipi :) )

Just changed the setting to 60 days and the comment input box came back where it should have.
On that happy note, time for sleep.

Browsing through my Cutline blog this morning I happened upon this cheery note on one of my commented posts which is now closed by using automattically closed comments: “Like gas stations in rural Texas after 10 pm, comments are closed.”
Since my Cutline blog is a personal blog this cheery note doesn’t bother me too much-OK, maybe just a little bit. However, if my Cutline blog were a business blog or a professional blog or a portfolio blog, etc., it certainly would make me think twice about the sense and practicality of the new feature.
Just sayin’…

There’s electric cars and then there’s electric cars, rain. And yes, I think I know who you mean.

Actually on closer examination, it doesn’t have anything to do with automatically closed posts. This is the “closed comment” note on my blog, regardless.
I haven’t gone through all the themes, but at the moment it looks like it is specific to Cutline.
Quite a sense of humor.
