Update to DNS A Record

    Hello, we have hired a new web developer who built us a new site on Weebly and we need to have our A record changed to the Weebly IP. Our domain is managed through GoDaddy who currently has our NS pointed to WordPress nameservers. The developer is out of town and we need to launch our new site ASAP. Need help on where to start? WordPress, Weebly, GoDaddy? Thanks

    Hi there,

    If your domain pointed to WordPress.com and you have Domain mapping enabled in your WordPress.com account, then you need to add a new A Record on WordPress.com.

    You can confirm the Nameserver using https://intodns.com/

    Hi there,

    Please contact GoDaddy support for help with this – if you’re going to use the domain with Weebly, there is no reason to point it to our name servers and then add the required A records with us. To start with, this will require you to also have a paid WordPress.com plan so you can add a domain mapping upgrade, which you won’t actually be using, so you’ll be wasting your money.

    Point the name servers back to the default GoDaddy name servers, then you can add the required A records in GoDaddy’s DNS manager instead.
