Updated DNS after upgrading from .wordpress.com site to custom .com
-
Hi there
I totally admit I am an idiot for not being able to figure this out. I started my free blog at wordpress.com, then upgraded to a custom .com address with wordpress but it says I need to update the DNS. I have no idea what I am doing, I’ve made the .com address the primary address (is that right?) but still says “We checked the name servers and it looks like they’re not pointing to WordPress.com yet. If you recently updated them please check again soon. It can take a few hours for registrars to complete updating their name servers.”
No idea what to do sorry, can anyone help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

it does not look like scottiehack.com – is registered – a domain name needs to be registered before it can be mapped (a domain name needs to be both registered and mapped to work)
Did you register scottiehack.com? That would have been a $5.-/yr charge

Er not sure I bought their $99 wordpress premium that included a free credit to register the domain, but unsure how I do that?

I tried registering a new domain name but I get “The domain name you entered is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog”.

I have visited scottiehack.com and viewed several of its pages, and it appears to be functioning correctly:
The issue you encountered was most likely due to either your browser’s cache, or DNS not yet being up-to-date.
Can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies?
If you are still having a problem, let me know, and we can take the next troubleshooting step, once I get more feedback.
BTW, your site looks awesome! Great job :-)

Hi thanks for that, in the end I managed to get on the live chat, it was a registrar problem at WordPress end, so wasn’t quite as stupid as I thought, though I am pretty stupid :-)
Thanks for kind words, total wordpress novice but enjoying it.
Cheers
