Updated Plugins – Now I have a White Screen of Death – No Admin Screen Access – Trying to Set Up FT

Hello –
I am new to WordPress and have just taken over managing a site at a new job. I mistakenly accepted plugin updates without running a backup or understanding the potential implications, which resulted in a White Screen of Death with the below error message.Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/worldsen/public_html/wp-content/plugins/carousel-slider/includes/Carousel_Slider_Form.php on line 9
I have no access to Admin Screens so cannot disable the plug ins that way. I see that I need to get in to the site with FTP (Filezilla) but this was not previously set up or linked with this site. I am trying to do that now, but the username and password I use to log in to the site usually, do not seem to be working for the FTP registration.
Then, when I requested a new password and input our registered email address for our account, I set the new password and logged in and it took me to a completely blank website – no data – no template, etc. This is the account I am logged on to now in order to access the forum, but it is not our actual website.
I seem to be stuck. Any thoughts?

Hey there, you’ve posted your question in the support forums for sites hosted by WordPress.com, but it sounds like your site is using the standalone WP software.
Standalone WP and WordPressdotcom are different entities; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
