Updated private domain on WordPress end but not working after adding nameservers

  I have updated my private domain in WordPress. I then went to godaddy and updated my nameservers with the appropriate wordpress nameservers. my url 1manzstory.com is not working. Can you please assist?

  Hi there,

  I just checked and I can view your WordPress.com site when I visit your custom domain here: http://1manzstory.com/

  If you just made that name server change, you’ll need to wait a bit longer to be able to see your domain there. It can take up to 72 hours for domain changes to take effect around the world.

  Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

  I’m just really confused. I cleared my cache/history and was able to pull it up. I then go back to double-check if I can do it again and it rejects it. It’s like something is pinging it back to godaddy. Its not consistent. Also, I cleared my history on my iPad and its not working at all.

  Are you able to keep logging into the site without clearing history? Do I need to add an IP address on godaddy end within their DNS zone files?

  Hi there,

  What you described is normal for the first 72 hours after you make a domain change like this. Sometimes you may be able to access the site, and sometimes it may not work, but after about 72 hours it will settle down. Everything is set up correctly, so you don’t need to do anything more at this stage except wait a little bit. :)
