Updated site, need to recover jetpack subscribers – NOT a WordPress.com site.
-
I redesigned my self-hosted site, and archived the old version with a different URL.
The new version site URL is the same as the URL the Jetpack subscribers originally subscribed to, but the subscribers are gone. How do I recover them and be sure they are getting email notices through Jetpack that new content has been posted? -
Hi there,
What happened here is that it appears you connected the new site to Jetpack without first disconnecting the old one. So Jetpack didn’t see it as a reconnection, but instead created a duplicate connection for the same URL.
Luckily it looks like the old connection is still active, so it’s easy to find without having to go dig through your account logs for the correct site’s blog ID :)
I’ve started the process of migrating your subscribers to the new connection. I see there’s a lot of them, so it might take a while. Meanwhile, please let me know if you want to migrate your site stats over to the new connection as well.
Once everything is migrated we can also properly disconnect the old site from your account.

Hi there,
it seems that reconnecting I run into the same issue with my self hosted WP. How to clean up my JETPACK database? I would like to reconnect my WP.com profile and stats to the new connection and unlink the previous one so the stats are available in the WP Dashboard again.

Hi @bschwertfeger, are you the same person who created this post? If so you have more than one account and that could also be an issue. Do you see the stats when logged in with the first account?

Happy to help :)
Should we migrate your site stats for you as well before we disconnect the old site?
-
Hi there,
I am writing here, since the option to login and to send a support email doesn’t work. I logged in a hundred times, but the Jetpack side reports, that I am not.
Anyhow. @bschwertfeger was used from me since 2011 for the blog mba-journal.de. We used the connection for the admin and author account.
Recently I reinstalled Jetpack and I required that the admin (service) account cannot have the same jetpack connection than the author. So I connected to a new profile MBAJOURNALSERVICE as admin and – when logged in as @bschwertfeger – I connected to the @bschwertfeger profile at Jetpack. Now I can see MBA Journal 2 times at @bschwertfeger account and a blank side at my WordPress blog while admin @mbajournalservice can see everything.
It is absolutely crucial to save the stats for the author, since there is a case at court that rely on these data. So before you migrate the accounts please ensure that the stats are available after the migration.
If we have made a mistake or should not have two accounts please let us know. Since @bschwertfeger (author) needs the stats but cannot connect to JETPACK before the admin did, please instruct how to connect to JETPACK best. As admin we don’t need stats at all.
Hope the above made sense, awaiting your action/response.

Hi again @bschwertfeger, just to clarify, are you connected at all with @recoverysi? If not, could you please create a new post here?

Thank you, @recoverysi. I didn’t think so but wasn’t sure!
@bschwertfeger, please do start your own topic here, and let us know what sites you’re working with.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1Cheers, all!
