Updated to OS X El Capitan And Can't Add Media

    I updated my Mac to Version 10.11.2 OS X El Capitan. Now when I ‘Add Media,’ it shows the entire folder but won’t let me open up to add individual photos. It almost looks as though it is adding the entire folder of photos! When I look on my iPhoto and click on it to open, my computer now gets hung up. I have tried several times.
