Hi Anna,
It depends what you mean by updating. Some themes are replaced by newer versions, but there’s no updated version of the Twenty Eleven theme that I’m aware of. However, I’ll call for staff attention to the topic to see if they have any suggestions. Staff will respond here.
@staff: Please remove the “retired theme” tag I mistakenly added. The theme Twenty Eleven has not been retired. Also, it has a responsive layout. -
Hi @pyttip,
What were you looking to update? I see that you were able to publish a new post.
WordPress.com is a managed host, so besides your older theme, your site is up-to-date. If you would like to switch from Twenty Eleven to a newer theme, you can do this by going to Appearance → Themes.
If you had something else in mind, just let me know.

Good morning,
I have no function in my version that states “Update” in left hand frime or find an Update function.
I only have something that states “Upgrade”
Also I can’t see what version I have and would like to update to the latest one 5.9 -
You can’t update on the wordpress.com platform. This is all taken care of by wordpress.com. Also the wordpress.com platform doesn’t have versions as the open source wordpress.org has.
