updated version of page doesn't display

Wierd! I’ve been working on a new page that I have (temporarily) set to private. (I do this all the time)
Suddenly it is not displaying any of the new content I type in and click to update. When I then hit “preview” or “view page” it just shows the previous version. None of the new text shows at all!
Luckily, when I click on that previewed page to edit it, all the saved text is there in the edit screen (thank god!).I keep typing and saving, assuming this glitch would go away but it still hasn’t after about a half hour. I can’t “see” any of the stuff I’ve been adding to the page. (ever since I added a gallery to it, come to think of it).
Can it be related to having just inserted a gallery into the page? The gallery displays, but nothing I’ve added to the page since that.
I added the gallery to the middle of the page, and the old text and photos that were below the gallery seem to be permanently there in the displayed page, none of the new text I’m adding under the gallery.
I’ve never used galleries before, can it be that they are only supposed to be in posts, not in pages, and that’s why this is happening?

Nevermind, I’m working around this ok, had to copy and paste the page piecemeal into a new page. It’s working ok there so far.
If there is some kind of issue about inserting galleries into pages, I’d like to know, though…

This has happened again. I would really like to avoid having to copy and paste the page contents piece by piece into another page all over again!
Can this be flagged for staff attention, or can I just somehow transfer the thread over to the staff reply section?
The page in question is set to private (because I am not finished with it yet) and it is called ” 2nd new gallery (because it’s the second time I pasted it bit by bit into a new page to get the saved content to show up)
Between the first gallery

is a long section of text and galleries, all saved and visible in my text editor, none of which displays when I click either on “preview” or on “view page”.
This telescoping of the viewable page happened after I added the photo above (into the middle of already saved content, if that has any bearing on this) and clicked “update”.

I just found and removed a weird unattached piece of code in the text editor, and now everything is fixed. I don’t know how the code got there—it must have occurred when I uploaded that last photo (much further down the page than this glitch turned up).
Now I know where to look and what to look for when this happens again…Sorry to take up forum time with it! -
