Updated WordPress to 4.9.4 & unable to access edit page & visual composer

    Hi,

    As stated on my title, after updating wordpress, I go to “page”, then go to my home page & click “edit” , the page loads but nothing appears. Just a blank page. This also happens when i click on “Visual Composer”, it was white page for awhile, then an error appears “This page isn’t working & unable to handle request. HTTP Error 500”.

    Even when I try to create a new page, the screen just loads to blank. I think anything that has to do with “edit page” , the page isn’t accessible & loads to a blank page.

    Hope there’s a solution for this issue. :(

    What’s the URL of the site you need help with?

    I may be wrong, but from what you wrote it looks like you need help with a self-hosted WordPress.org site. These forums are for sites hosted on WordPress.com.

    Also, since a 500 error may suggest an issue with your hosting, it would be probably a good idea to reach out your hosting company for more information about why the site is unavailable.

    HTTP Error 500 could be due to lots of issues like your site’s server, theme files, plugins used.

    The server is a sense such that, the execution timeout that your server provides to execute a process can be one of the reason. Try consulting with your server provider and the upload limits, maximum timeout limit.

    Can you make sure that your wordpress was updated completely?
    Try changing the different theme and see if it works.
    Try deactivating and activating plugins back and forth.

    One the reason could be that your “Visual Composer” could be outdated. Update it and let us know if anything works or doesn’t.

    Thanks for the replies everyone. I will look into them.

    Totally forgot to state my website url. The website link is imagination-at-play.com

    The theme that I’m currently using is Polar.

    I wondered if anyone could help :)
    I have having similar issues to the person who started this thread.
    I recently updated my wordpress site to 4.9.4 and now I am not able to view the ‘pages’ in the back ground, I used to be able to see them and edit just fine, the site has always been really slow in the back ground which was fine, but now its even slower and I like I say I can not edit or see the page correctly to be able to error, when I go to the page to edit it i get an error at the top about the connection is lost and then the is just hanging. I have deactivated the plugin ‘ultimate add ons for visual composer’ the site is then fast but the content on the front pages isn’t correct. All my updates are done, I am just a little lost and would appreciate and help please.
