Updating A-record for a domain

  Hi,

  our domain is marqete.asia. We’re using google apps for various services. We’d like to redirect users to http://www.marqete.asia, when they type just marqete.asia. There are clear instructions on Google to do this here – http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2518373. But updating the DNS record in wordpress doesn’t do anything. When entering http://www.marqete.asia, it comes up with 404 page error.

  There’s a reference on wordpress DNS help page http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/ stating that you cannot add a custom A DNS record for the root domain. Is this why updating the DNS reocord according to google’s instructions results in 404 error page?
