updating a website
-
I designed a website using a program that’s no longer available, so I can’t make any updates. I’d like to try WordPress to update it. Would I be able to set up a site, copy the pages and manage the site from WordPress. I’d like to see if WordPress is appropriate before I make WordPress the host. Another program I tried could not do something as simple as having a two-line menu.

it was made with iWeb, and I loved it. it was very easy to make and to update. The site is still online, but I ca’t make changes to it. I’d like to copy the pages to WordPress and make necessary changes now and update when necessary.. There’s no need for me to start up a website from scratch.

Hi there,
Can you share the address of your site so I can have a look? You’ll probably need to manually copy your content here by following this guide https://transferto.wordpress.com/drag-and-drophtml-site-builders/ but I want to check your site and see if there’s a way to make the process easier.

the address is http://www.georgeradeschi.net, and there is a second site, mine, that is kidsbooksandmore.com which I will also need to update. The latter was also done on IWeb.

Thanks for that. I don’t think you’d be able to copy those sites here, I’d recommend manually copying the content but designing the site from scratch here, on WordPress.com.
With our Block Editor you can create pages to showcase and sell your books and woodworks. Have a look at this page to learn some more about how the editor works:
You can also have a look at the Simple Payments block that will allow you to sell your creations:

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.
