Updating and SEO
-
If I have not updated some of the pages on my blog/website for several years, will that decrease my SEO? To what extent do you need to update to keep the SEO strong? Is it just tweaking a few words or adding a sentence or do you need to revamp the whole page? Will newer pages do better in SEO than older pages? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @susangittlen,
You asked this question a while ago. Have you been able to find some answers?
If not, here are some resources on Search Engine Optimisation that will prove useful:

To add to the excellent links provided by silumesii I would say two things you can do are:
– Add genuinely new, fresh content
– Attract interest in old content using social media
The first link provided by silumesii is an e-book which has tons of great advice.
Whether or not this is fair, search engines do tend to favour sites which keep adding new content. The new content should be real, not minor edits or recycled old content.

Let’s understand it with a simple example:
Till how many days you can eat same food again and again? May be you will hate your favorite food. Same thing applies to the blog as well, what do you think? Without updating your content, how long you will hold your existing readers?
If traffic will not come, then automatically you will lose ranking. If you will not update your content, then spiders will not get ping and will crawl only when you will get organic search.
