Updating CSS for only the Blog Post Page (Soho Theme)
-
I’ve just recently migrated my website to the Soho theme. I have a couple of questions around the 1) Blog Post Page and 2) Home page.
1) For the Blog Posts Page. I have created a dummy page “Blog” which seems to be required and it calls all the posts. I would like to treat the “Blog” page as a page instead of just an underlying page. I want to 1) add a feature image and 2) add a “Block Quote” while having it automatically call all of my posts. Is there a CSS that allows me to override how the Soho theme or blogger is treating the posts page such that I can have a featured image, and default text such as a block quote. Also potentially a background image as well.
For 2) the Home page, I have very similar questions. I have set my underlying Home page called a “portfolio” template so it calls all of my projects/portfolios. I would like to have a background image on my home page and also be able to add text if I would like to as well.

You can not set the Blog page as your Posts page and instead make it a standard page and use the Display Posts Shortcode to display your posts. In that way you could set a featured image and then include a quote above the shortcode in the page content area.
The posts will not have the same styling as the actual blog page would, but you can style them with CSS. You might want to create a draft page, and not publish it, to try it out on so you can see how things will look.
