Updating embedded links in a post?

  • Unknown's avatar

A blog I frequently link to had to change the domain name. Is there a way I can search the links in my posts for where I’ve linked to this blog, so I can update the links? (please say yes!) Or will I have to go through each post to see if I linked to the other blog? (Please, no!)

    TIA,
    Kathy

You could open the post in the editor, switch to the HTML tag, copy everything in that window and paste it into a plain text editor and then do all the searching in there and change the URL’s. (Since you will be working with the HTML side of things, some familiarity with HTML would be a good thing when doing it this way.) Then when done, copy everything out of the text editor and paste it back into the HTML tab in the post replacing everything that was there.

Other than that, it is a matter of going through each post link by link.

Ok, thanks. I was hoping to find some way of looking through the code of all posts, so I wouldn’t have to go post by post looking for links. Still, opening them in html is a good suggestion, and one I will use. Thanks!
