Updating failed – an unknown error occurred (when trying to save a post)

    Hello,

    I just started my blog on wordpress.com 2 days ago. I’ve managed to create and save one post but have been unable to create a second. Every time I try to save a draft, I get a red bar at the top that says Updating failed an unknown error occurred. My blog is not yet launched. I’m still trying to configure it and publish a few more posts before I launch it.

    At this point I can’t really move forward. I’ve read some things about installing the classic editor but I cannot do that since I have a free account and can’t install plugins.

    Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

    Please try clearing your browser cache and see if that helps. If not, let us know and we can troubleshoot further.

    I did try clearing out my cache and browsing history and cookies, but it didn’t help.

    I am able to edit and save posts on safari.

    First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/

    If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

    If it is, please try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    Please let us know how that goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.
