Updating in full screen mode not possible ?

I like to write in full screen mode but cannot update. Why not ?

Is the following what you are referring to?
The Screen Options pull down tab is located in the upper right corner of your Dashboard. It can be used to show/hide modules on some screens and show/hide columns on other screens. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/

I don’t use the full screen mode for editing. When I tried it just now it certainly appears that you can not save drafts or update posts. As I’m not familiar with that mode, are you saying that you’ve been using it and updating in the past. Is this something new that happened?

I have only accessed the screen options on my blog once. I clicked everything so everything would display and that was that. So like Tess I can offer no specific help.
Do the support documentation entries on screen options help?

OK, 1tess understands what I am talking about. Timethief missunderstood me.
1tess says he has no experience with that mode.
I am surprized. My suggestion to you is to use only the fullscreen mode while editing, because that gives a much better view (using most of the screen).
I also use the Windows Live Writer which is not bad.
As 1tess also has experienced, it is not possible to to save (or update in WP parlance )
so what I do is to toggle the Toggle Fullscreen Mode buttom and then I can Update.
So I do not understand what 1tess means by “is it something new that happened”.
