Updating/installing plugins doesn’t work

I’m not sure why but any update or new installation of a plugin gives me an error. Any clues as to why that might be?

Bare in mind that if your websites uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, you should post in the self-hosted forums or alternatively contact your hosting provider, or even the plugin developer. Note the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Let us know this information and we’ll try and move forward. :)

I think it has nothing to do with the specific plugin since eight different ones won’t update and new ones cannot installed – regardless of the plugin provider

Ah, I see. However, it appears that your website uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, which is what this forum is designed to help with. Note the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
