Updating MX files to hosting agency for emails

  Hi Guys,
  I successfully redirected my domain to the current wordpress site recently, at which time the MX files were also set to wordpress (previously MX files were held at hostgator where domain is hosted).
  This afternoon my email appears to have been down for the last seven hours- this could be due to low/no traffic, but seems unlikely.

  Can I keep the site directed at WordPress and redirect MX files to Hostgator?

  The advice from Hostgator is: “192.185.225.72 is the IP address that you need to use for this email to function correctly on your server here. “

  Can you please help me with this so I don’t stuff it up?
