updating nameservers
-
Hello,
I want to be able to … when you type in eventsinnature.net it goes to my wordpress site and in the url it shows eventsinnature.net
i have eventsinnature.net domain name with godaddy, i went to godaddy and did the things i needed to do to “point it” (?) to my wordpress site
im having trouble at the wordpress end
iv read all the wordpress instructions, but when i go t manage domains and update/edit DNS, nothing in that section resembles anything i read in the instructions.
i believe i have to put ns1.wordpress.com somewhere and ns2.wordpress.com somewhere but i don’t know where or how.
the word terminology seems to change each time you get to a new page, it’s not exactly consistent, same specific words.
what i want to happen is that you type in eventsinnature.net in the url and the website comes up, and the url says eventsinnature.net (not the wordpress.com address).
hope u can help, im sure u can fix this.
thanks
michael

Hi Michael!
It looks like you’re almost ready to go. You’ve purchased the domain mapping upgrade for eventsinnature.net. The last step is to change the name servers like you mentioned. You’ll need to do that at GoDaddy. Instructions to do that at GoDaddy can be found here:
You’ll want to change them to the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COMCan you give that a try?

Hi Jeremy,
Many thanks for sending that link through.
Found where to put it all (the ns1, ns2. etc) and put it in.
Have made eventsinnature.net my primary domain on my WordPress site (i think).
When i enter eventsinnature.net into the browser, site not yet coming up (I get a godaddy page) …. maybe it’s just taking a while at the godaddy end to process.
Could you please check and let me know if there’s anything else i need to do, at the WordPress end or elsewhere?
Michael :)

Jeremy,
I rang Go Daddy. (They have a Sydney number listed in big type at the bottom of their home page. Answered straight away. Awesome service.)
He checked and said I had done everything right. It’s working, will just take an hour or so to work through the system.
I think we’ll all good.
Thank you.

Howdy Michael! Looks like everything is indeed up and running. Can you try to clear your browser cache if it’s not up for you? Instructions can be found here:
Let me know if you still have trouble pulling up the page!
