My payment for our current domain did not go through because I lost my card. I am trying to update the payment information so that we do not lose our domain within the 90 days that the email said. Hey there, it looks like someone disputed the payment as fraudulent about a month ago. That immediately removed all upgrades while the case was investigated. At this point, we have a few steps to getting the domain back and working with the site.
- Take care of the chargeback fee: The fee covers our costs for the dispute resolution process, which is complete now. You won’t be able to upgrade until that’s taken care of, so you’ll want to do that here as your first step. If you’re interested, you can read more on chargebacks here.
- Restore the domain: Once the chargeback is clear, we can either send you an invoice for the domain, or you can buy an annual hosting plan and we can use its promotional first-year credit for the domain fee. Let us know what you decide to do. You’ll want to work quickly to get the domain paid for and restored properly regardless of where you host the site, so the domain won’t go into a lengthy and risky redemption process.
- Connect the domain to hosting: If you bought the annual hosting plan in step two, we can connect the domain to your site here with us, or you can host elsewhere if you’d like. Here’s the difference between our managed hosting and other hosting services.
I did notice you were previously likely using free hosting here with a mapped domain. We stopped offering that option several years ago and unfortunately, I can’t re-add it to the account. You can choose though whether to connect the domain with a plan (personal will work nicely), redirect it to a free site, or utilize another service. We’d be happy to help you find the best option once the domain is restored.
