Updating post made it disappear…help!
-
The post I just updated disappeared, after I hit update; that’s 3 hours lost. It was not deleted and sent to the trash, nor was it found in my trash (once I located where trash was.
How do I relocate it, so I can post it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
See also if applicable > restoring from trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash(If you are referring to a Page then see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-revisions/)
I recommend:
Using the https:// login if your connectivity is dodgy or you are using an insecure wifi. http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
Always allow pages to fully load before clicking any other links.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/ -
Thanks for those links, but since my post disappeared (not visible in drafts, published, trash or any other folder), I cannot apply any of those steps. (can’t restore or revise something not visible)
I also start all my posts from dashboard as you suggested.

Guess what? I’m in luck, something changed on my post date (from “immediately” to 3 months ago). Not sure how, since I don’t schedule posts…but I looked back just a few minutes ago, and there it was. It wasn’t visible when I reported it hours ago, even with a search for the post title.
Phew…thanks for your help.
