Updating Stats broken?

Hello! My site stats are not updating for today, 11 Sept. The “Day” display in stats is stuck on 10 Sept and is not adding any new pageviews because that day is over.
I realize it may not be 11 Sept to you, but it is already for those of us on UTC. I have a feeling it will update around midnight (Pacific Time?) but it used to update at midnight blog time, UTC.
Is this broken right now? Need fixing? Thanks!

Hi Erik,
I checked your stats now (at about 10 AM UTC) and your stats for today (September 11) are appearing now. It’s a bit difficult to tell what was happening when you saw them earlier. Are those stats working for you now?
If this happens again, please make a screenshot of what you see in your stats (and make a note of the local time shown on the computer or mobile device you’re using) so I can share that with our team and investigate this further. You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an image sharing service like Imgur to share that screenshot with me. Thanks!

Yes, it looks good in the morning. I’ll take a screenshot if it does it again tonight. Not sure what it’ll show .. :-)
Out of curiousity, what is midnight for wordpress generally – Pacific time?

There isn’t really a general “midnight for WordPress” or WordPress.com. WordPress.com staff and data centers are distributed around the world — for example, my midnight is UTC+1. :)
Your stats should appear according to your site’s timezone, though. It’s possible your stats were just a bit delayed while the numbers were being crunched (that happens from time to time), but if it continues to be a problem, that screenshot will help me investigate further.

I am not in a position to send a screenshot, but it’s not particularly revealing. Right now, the last date available to me on the stats page is 13 Sep, when in fact by my blog it is 14 Sep. There are no stats accumulating.
The problem will probably fix itself by morning, as it did last time. This is only a problem when it is after midnight blog time but before midnight somewhere else. Just where that somewhere else is, local time or whatever, I cannot yet say.

Is your computer also on UTC time, as well as your blog? Or is your local time different from your blog’s timezone?

Just to make sure I understand, you didn’t see 14 Sep listed at all in your stats when you checked? I just want to clarify whether you saw that date but with no views/visitors in the stats, or if it didn’t appear at all anywhere on your stats page.

You have it correct.
I didn’t see 14 Sep listed. There is no bar graph for it, everything is set so that it is still 13 Sep – though that has stopped advancing. If I manually set the URL to include the date, eg https://wordpress.com/stats/day/erikhare.com?startDate=2015-09-14 , I have the very same view – no 14 Sep.
It clearly corrects itself at some point, so I have no idea when it thinks it’s safe to be 14 Sep. But it’s after midnight my local time.

I have been testing this on my end, and so far I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue you’re seeing — that makes it very hard to track down what’s going on here.
Can you please confirm the date/time you see on your computer when it’s after midnight for your blog (according to your blog’s timezone)? If you can make a screenshot that would also really help illustrate the issue so I can better communicate it to our team, but if that’s not an option the date/time information will give me more information to keep investigating this for you.

Sorry to be so busy that I haven’t been in a place to get a screenshot to you. I found a work around that explains it.
When I adjust the time zone on my computer to GMT the problem is fixed. Apparently, my browser is sending local time to wordpress, which takes THAT as the date/time stamp for the purpose of stats rather than the blog’s own time.
