Updating Tag Cloud Without Eliminating Tags From Posts

I love the Tag Cloud Widget. I quickly maxed out to 45 tags. I’d like to update the tags in the cloud, to include some of my newer tags, but the only way I can think to do this is to delete the tag from my master tag list, and then it also gets deleted from its post.

Is there a way to keep a tag connected to a post, but just lose it from the tag cloud?

    Thanks so much, Suz

No. The Tag Cloud is set to display the 45 most used tags.

Thank you for replying. I have a bunch of tags that are only used once, and the program seems to put the oldest tags in in that case. I’d still love to pick and choose from among the one-time-use ones. Good to know that if a tag gets used more frequently, it will automatically show up in the cloud, even if it’s not there now. (I think that’s what you’re saying.)

You’re welcome, and yes that’s what I’m saying. That’s the way the TG is set, and there are no options for it (while in the -similar- Categories Cloud you can set the number to be displayed).

If you want your own group of tags in the sidebar, you can write links to the tag pages in a text widget.
