Updating template

  I haven’t updated the template in years and went to do that today and it is now saying this! I am obviously not that familiar with Website design.
  Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/content/42/ ****** /html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/backwpup.php on line 69 — please help! (I removed some numbers incase it was personal to the site)
