Updating themes without destroying the website

How do i upload updated themes without damaging the current website design i’ve done? I’m currently using a child theme for my website, can i just upload the theme updates into wordpress?

This forum address issue with website hosted in WordPress.com only. It seems that you’re in the wrong support forum. You are using the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com.
